Gutters:

We use brackets to avoid contact with the gutters. When you place a ladder directly on the gutter you are causing damage even if you do not see it at that moment.

The weight of the ladder plus the weight of the person climbing the ladder will cause serious damage to that level. All this weight pulling down on the gutters prevents rain water from draining properly.
If you already have this problem with your gutters you should be sure that any person you hire in the future is a professional.
Be sure to hire the right company to do the job. Remember that new gutters are very expensive.

Siding:
We use the stabilizer to prevent siding or wall damage and also to make our job safer. The ends of the stabilizer have rubber pads so when a ladder is placed on the wall or siding it will not scratch the surface.
